“Only a spectacularly incompetent” Andrews government would turn Melbourne’s CBD into a “drug den”, says Sky News host Rita Panahi.

“Anyone who visits the city regularly knows what Melbourne’s CBD needs is a massive boost in investment, it needs a big boost in people, and activity to return the city to its former glory,” she said.

“What it most certainly does not need is a drug injecting room in Flinders Street that will attract addicts, drug dealers and the sort of depraved behaviour we have seen around Richmond’s supervised injecting room.

“Only a spectacularly incompetent government would contemplate such a disastrous move.”

Ms Panahi said the state government “seems determined” to turn the CBD into a “drug den”.
