My husband of over 20 years is a great guy, but he doesn’t always eat best, plus, he’s a diabetic.  After coming home from the hospital with his third heart attack, he said he was going to be serious this time.  Actually, he is, and he has been doing great.  After two months, he had his blood work done again and the doctor even wrote on his report they sent back to him…… “Great Job.  Keep doing what you’re doing!”  Well, let me tell you what he has been doing, besides cutting all red meat out from his diet, eating more salads and fresh vegetables, cut out animal fat and butter, he also started drinking a tonic that I found on the internet.  His A1c went from above 9 to 6.5 and cholesterol reading from above normal (dangerous) to under the norm….. and all in just two months!

This miracle tonic consists of ginger, garlic, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice and honey!  The recipes has been around for years and years and has been known to help with lowering cholesterol, acne, circulation, arthritis and many other things.  (I’ve made a larger list on the bottom of this post.)

Now, I’ve countless of times made my own concoction of lemon juice, honey and garlic but I never got real health benefits (that I could notice) until I started drinking this too.  I have high blood pressure and at the end of the day, my ankles would hurt as if I had circulation problems.  The doctors tell me my blood pressure is low and at normal range and my legs do not hurt any more.  I’m going to give you an explanation of what these ingredients are good for, and then the recipe is at the end.  Use all fresh ingredients, raw honey, and organic everything if possible; try it for a month or two.  In fact, get your blood work done before you do it, then try it for two months and get another test.  See if it works for you.

Prep time – 30 – 45 minutes

Ginger Juice – 1 cup
Garlic Puree – 1 cup
Lemon Juice – 1 cup
Apple Cider Vinegar – 1 cup
Organic Raw Honey – 1 cup or to taste
Note – I have used the measure of 1 cup as an example, but you can use a 1/2 cup too.  Whatever measure amount you use, use for each ingredient, other than for the honey, you can add more to your taste, but be reasonable.
Figuring out a way to get juice from a dry ginger root was probably the hardest (to think about), but it was really easy to do.  Place ginger into a blender, cover with 1 cup of water, and blend until ginger is thick and pasty. Strain and squeeze juice from ginger pulp into your container, squeezing ginger mixture as dry as possible.  Use some of this liquid to puree the garlic.  After everything has been juiced, put in a GLASS container/bottle.  Let it sit for at least one week in the refrigerator.  Start with 1 tsp daily to work up to at least 1 tbs daily, shaking the bottle to make sure everything is mixed.  I prefer to take it at night so I only offend myself with my breadth.  Some people have put it in water or organic fruit juice, but that is up to you.

What this Miracle Tonic has been known to treat:

Arthritis: Mix a teaspoon in half cup of warm water and drink before going to bed.

Asthma: A teaspoon of the basic potion in the morning on an empty stomach will have you breathing lightly in no time.

Cancer: When making the potion, double the garlic cloves and take two tea spoons in juice three times a day.

High blood pressure: Make a special batch of the elixir, using two cups of water, 18 garlic cloves, two tablespoons of vinegar and three tablespoon of honey. Blend as before and keep on medium to low heat for half an hour. Allow it to cool and take three tablespoons three times a day.

To Lower cholesterol: Make a tea by adding a teaspoon of the elixir in a cup of hot water and drink before meals, three times a day.

Heart disease: Use the recipe for high blood pressure and sip a half-cup of the mixture three times a day.

Impotence: Boil a cup of vinegar mixed with seven to ten crushed cloves of garlic and a tablespoon of honey for five minutes. Cool and drink like tea.

Acne or pimples: Use a basic potion on affected area with a piece of cotton each night.

Gas or indigestion: Put two tablespoons of the basic mixture in a cup of water and warm to the temperature you use for your coffee or tea. Sip slowly at the first sign of distress. Even though it has been blended with honey and vinegar, garlic’s pungent odor can still be a problem for some people. To deal with this side affect, experts recommend putting springs of parsley in the elixir or eating parsley raw after taking a dose.

Turmeric Tea
The benefits of turmeric are just now being discovered.  Some claim to help with Alzheimer’s, Arthritis, liver and stomach problems and contains anti-inflamatory properties, to name a few.  It’s been around for centuries.

  • Bring four cups of water to a boil.
  • Add one teaspoon of ground turmeric and reduce to a simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Strain the tea through a fine sieve into a cup; add honey and/or lemon to taste.
  • Add a pinch of black pepper to increase absorption.

Turmeric with Coconut Milk Tea

  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (the absorption of turmeric is actually enhanced when combined with black pepper)
  • 1″ piece of ginger sliced
  • raw honey to sweeten, if desired.
  • In a saucepan add all ingredients (except honey, if using) and whisk to combine
  • Heat over medium heat until it starts to bubble
  • Then turn heat down to low and simmer for about 5 minutes so the flavors meld
  • Strain out the ginger
  • Add honey and stir
  • Makes 2 servings, so you can share the love

Turmeric Paste – can even be given to your pets

  • Mix water (1 cup) with turmeric powder in a pan and slowly heat it up and stir for 6-10 minutes until you get a thick paste (add the additional ½ cup water if it is too thick).
  • Add black pepper and oil and continue stirring until all the ingredients are fully mixed in together.
  • Allow the paste to cool.
